Abstract The London Lectures that Husserl delivered in 1922 are part of a broader program aimed at the systematic presentation of phenomenology. Within this framework, several strategies are deployed to address core disciplinary problems. Among them, this paper examines four aspects: the appeal to historiography in order to build a story that supports the fundamental theoretical decisions, the criticism of psychologism, the redefinition of the notion of transcendental and the specification of the disciplinary scope. These developments allow an assessment of the London Lessons that recognize its peculiarities and avoid a disparaging consideration as mere preliminary version of the Paris Lectures, and legitimize a deeper study of husserlian presentations of phenomenology.
