Abstract: In this paper I present five different approaches to the debate between Platonism and Nominalism: (1) the quantifier approach, (2) the reductionist approach, (3) the mind / language dependence approach, (4) the extension versus intension approach and (5) the hierarchichal approach. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages that have to be discussed in detail.
