The Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades (Portuguese Journal of Humanities) [RPH] is an interdisciplinary journal founded in 1997 by the faculty and researchers in the Humanities at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa [UCP], in Braga. Its primary aim is to promote and disseminate high-quality, peer-recognized scientific studies, with a thematic focus on the Humanities and Social Sciences (particularly Literary, Classical, Linguistic, and Cultural Studies). Having returned to its original format of a single annual volume, it continues to be published under the responsibility of the same Faculty, which, since 2015, has been called the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the UCP.

The Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades seeks to meet contemporary challenges and the most demanding internationalization standards for academic journals, investing in the gradual expansion not only of its Scientific Committee, made up of renowned national and international scholars responsible for a rigorous peer-review process, but also in publishing articles from various countries and universities, in the principal European languages.

On behalf of the Editorial Board of the Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades, we inform that the call for papers and reviews is open until 1 June 2025.

In association with the commemorations of the bicentenary of his birth, the Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades will dedicate its 2025 Issue to the figure and literary work of Camilo Castelo Branco, and to his exceptional ability to foster intertextual and intermedial dialogues. Scholars from Portugal and abroad are invited to submit research proposals. Article submissions must present original contributions.

Manuscripts should be sent as attachments, preferably in .doc or .docx format (or in PDF if they contain special symbols), to the official email address of the Journal: rphumanidades@gmail.com

The RPH will publish only original articles of recognized merit, submitted to peer review under a double-blind evaluation system. Submissions must be unpublished and should not exceed 10,000 words (including footnotes and references). Manuscripts may be written in the principal European languages (Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German). They must be accompanied by an Abstract and Keywords in English and follow the Portuguese Journal of Humanities style guidelines.

The deadline for submission is 1 June 2025. Articles and reviews received after this date may only be considered for evaluation and publication in subsequent issues; thus, the call for papers will remain permanently active on a rolling basis.

Authors will be notified of the editorial decision by 1 September 2025.
