| Abstract | In this article we intend to overfly the work of the Spanish writer Juan José Millás (valencia, 1946) to find evidences of the hellenic legacy. From the always present image of the odysseyc man in the exercise of the return to the legitime homeland – which the title, Volver a casa (1990), is definitely the most identified –, to the myths of Saturn (Krónos), Prometheus or Oedipus, the millasian characters transport within themselves a heritage of centuries, being this way exposed to the service of the metaphysics worries that goes through the work of the writer. In the action of the human quartering, Millás re-invents himself in a constant inquisitive gesture which will take him to a restoking action, having as a goal, the approximation to the center of the man. |
