Abstract The anxiety caused by stress can reduce the motivation and undermine the teaching-learning process. The plausible research motives for women suffer more anxiety and depression than men is now observed at multiple levels: multifactorial, neurobiological (and genetic), psychological, and cultural. It is argued that, with the biological study of the “fight-or-flight” (Cannon, 1927), it is evident that women “slow”, hormonally, that is to say, they reduce the effects of the organic system, when facing situations in which the heart beat stronger, and adrenaline is released (Craske & Chowdhury, 2006, pp. 8-9). The main objective for the qualitative research by method of case study is to give body and deepen the human condition of burnout, according to a perspective of stress and gender. With the technique of self-report/introspection, two young students of higher Education, wrote about their worries and school failures. It is further clarified concepts, from “generalized anxiety disorder” to burnout, and designed everyday illustrations. The young woman suffers from anxiety and the young man was bullied in elementary school. We will elucidate psychological counseling techniques to face the risk of burnout, anxiety and depression. From the conclusions, it can be said that anxiety/stress is more connoted with individual psychology (of context-free type), invading the social, and family life of the girl. The burnout is said job-related (Maslach, Schaufeli & Leiter, 2001), as reported by the boy, unemployed, about a “disorder of adaptation.” We discussed conduct patterns of the two irregular students, who are easily alarmed and impatient, Type A personalities. We insist on family support for her, and on social support of him, away from family with noticeable and subject discomfort.
